Achieving Excellence Consulting, Inc. wants to help businesses share their gifts with the community at large. Our featured vendor, Henna By Amaija, provides henna tattoos using freehand artwork and not stencils. This artform is often learned in a culture that teaches this skill from very young, such as 3 years old. Amaija Fields is the owner and currently 16, her self-taught skills learned 7 years ago is late in relation. She prides herself on satisfying her customers by the questions she asks to learn what expression of beauty will accentuate them. She has no problem making corrections if necessary and invites such means to show the level of care to her customers.
Amaija has educated herself about the use of henna. She has found that the black henna uses black hair dye that is harmful causing severe burns because of PPD that is found it in. She chooses to mix her own henna, but when she does not she uses jaguar henna which is natural. It is brown, but stains black. This henna comes from the Genipa americana, aka jagua fruit. Her excellent customer service goes beyond the beautiful design and caters to the health of her customers.
Henna is more than an artform, for the artist it is a way of life. Amaija brings authenticity to her art by studying not only the art, but the culture and its meaning. She takes pride in her lack of formal training but states,
“I just learned it on my own and figured out how to work with henna. Since you’re piping every detail by hand, to know the pressure you need for different designs or lines, what consistency for different types of work, how to mix your own properly.”
We are thankful to have business owners that are adding to their skill set and ACHIEVING EXCELLENCE!!!
Achieving Excellence knows what it is to handle growing pains of business ownership. Yet, the physical stress of business can be relieved by our focus vendor, Greystone Chiropractic. When you meet Dr. Brennan you are immediately greeted by his caring smile and enthusiasm. He and his team opened their doors in December of 2016. Being a little over a year old, they state as their WHY for doing business and their reason for success; “At Greystone Chiropractic, our priority is our patents! Dr. Brennan digs deep to find the CAUSE of your pain, instead of just masking the symptoms.”
Dr. Brennen Roberts, of the prestigious University of Pittsburgh and Palmer College of Chiropractic, leads his team in delivering compassion and a personal touch. He has been practicing over four years and has added over 200 hours in neurology training to benefit his patients. The team believes in delivering excellent customer service. They have unique techniques that provide a customized experience for each patient, such as Gonstead, Myofascial Release and Arthrostim Activator if the patient’s condition warrants it, just to name a few.
When asked about tangible results, it is awesome to hear the varied ages and health challenges that experienced positive change because of Dr. Brennan. The first is a child that could not raise their arms because of pain. After the child got their neck adjusted, the youth was able to raise their arms a considerable amount over their head. Dr. Brennan helped an adult that came into the office using a walker because of their health condition. After just one adjustment the patient was able to walk out of the office. Another patient suffered from jaw pain and after Dr. Brennan prescribed neurological exercises, a 10-year pain was alleviated. His practice wants to show their patients how to improve their quality of life. They want to ensure that children are receiving the chiropractic care they need to maximize their health. They also play a great role in the life of the athlete to increase their competitive edge with strategic techniques.
Dr Brennan is looking to grow his practice by taking on new patients that want care and attention for their health concerns. He and his staff are friendly, caring and specific to the needs of their patients. We are proud to feature Greystone Chiropractic in our Expo and to highlight how their team is ACHIEVING EXCELLENCE!!!!
Anyone that knows me knows I am a workaholic. Between a full time job, a business and school I stay busy. Many people ask me how I do it and stay focused on my task. The answer is PLAY. Pause from my usual, Listen to my heart, Act like a child and Yield to peace.
Pause from my usual to stop my activities and do something totally opposite. Something that will make me stop thinking of the figures and the marketing, forget about the research and the papers and loose myself in the activity.
Listen to my heart and what it needs. Hard work will certainly pay off in the end, but I cannot loose myself in the process. Take the business hat off and be uniquely me to feel passionate about my causes and feed my inner-man.
Act like a child and just be free. No responsibilities and not pressure. Do something that will be pure fun. No other purpose or agenda, just have fun.
Yield to peace means to bring it all together and let go of the stress, but literally relax my shoulders, take a deep breath and exhale. Whatever problems I face will still be there after my PLAY, but in this moment I am at peace.
I work hard, but I play hard and I want others to do the same. Our Professional Development training on March 3rd comes with an admission ticket to the Entrepreneurial Exposition on March 24th and a chance to win a cruise. Karibu Travel (www.cruisekaribu.com) is providing the cruise and the winner will sail in 2019. No excuses for not enough time to plan. We want people to P.L.A.Y!!!
